Christine is an associate practicing environmental, land use, natural resource, toxic tort law and general litigation. She provides regulatory, transactional and litigation services to a broad base of public and private clients. She is currently advising numerous municipalities in Oregon on water quality issues, a corporation involved in a major site remediation in California and numerous other corporations on compliance issues, among other matters.
During law school, Christine spent time working in the Environmental Protection Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. While there she worked on civil enforcement actions related to wetlands violations and improper handling and disposal of hazardous wastes. She also contributed to numerous brownfields redevelopment projects and a high profile case brought by a coalition of states against the U.S. EPA’s in connection with its interpretation of the Clean Air Act. Christine also spent a semester in London, England studying European Union Law at the University of London. While in London, she worked as an intern at the Foundation for International Environmental Law & Development (FIELD) and conducted extensive research on international environmental law and policy issues.
Before obtaining her law degree, Christine served as an agriculture extension volunteer in the United States Peace Corps and spent several years working as a development officer at a major environmental non-profit organization in New York City.
Immediately prior to joining Bateman Seidel, Christine practiced environmental law as an associate at K&L Gates in Portland. Before that, she was an associate at a law firm in New York City, where she specialized in complex structured finance and distressed debt transactions.
